The Tripod  Beta Roadmap ... easy practical guidance

Our Tripod Beta training programs provide a simple and easy to follow ‘1-2-3’ approach in building Tripod Beta analyses. This allows even newly trained Tripodeans to apply Tripod for any incident or business disturbance, no matter its complexity.

As part of the training material, participants will receive their copy of the handy pocket-sized ‘Tripod Beta Roadmap’, which covers all fundamentals and easy practical guidance. This roadmap has proven to be a very useful reference for investigators during incident investigation and analysis in the field.

Certified courses

  • The 'Stichting Tripod Foundation' (STF) is the official guardian of the Tripod philosophy. All our Tripod Beta courses are certified by the STF

  • Participants will receive a comprehensive training package. The materials include the official Tripod Beta User Guidance, which is published by the Energy Institute on behalf of the STF.

  • In addition to the official course materials, participants receive our handy pocket-size 'Tripod Beta Roadmap' which contains all the necessary information and practical tools for applying Tripod Beta in the field. This practical Roadmap has been developed by Geniozz and is considered indispensable by many as a perfect tool to guide investigators during their first experiences with Tripod Beta in the field.

Accreditation

  • The Stichting Tripod Foundation (STF) has created accreditations for Tripod Beta users, trainers and assessors.

  • The implementation of the (in this case) user accreditation is provided by Geniozz in the form of a 'knowledge test' on the last day of the Tripod Beta training. Note: this test only applies to the 3 and 4-day courses.

  • If this test is successfully completed, the participant will achieve the status of 'Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner'.

  • For additional information about the accreditation process (Silver and Gold) we refer to the website of the Energy Institute (EI).

  • The EI provides the secretariat for all accreditations on behalf of STF.

Our trainers are accredited
and have gained
broad international experiences
as a lead investigator.

    TBII

    2-day course

This course is ideal for investigators who want to receive advanced investigation skills, interview techniques and knowledge on how to design and execute a complete incident investigation process.

This course focuses on topics like: what are the objectives of an incident investigation (and what not!); fundamentals of the incident investigation process; Plan and organizing the investigation; Collecting data / evidence; Interview skills & techniques; Drafting a timeline; Daily/weekly progress reports; Conclusions; Recommendations; Communication and reporting of investigation findings; Reflective learning.

After this course, delegates will be able to engage as an investigator/ facilitator during all the phases of the incident investigation process.

  • Tripod Beta Introduction

    TBAW

    ½-day course

This workshop is an additional non-Investigator module to support effective Tripod Beta adoption. To fully integrate Tripod Beta as an incident analysis method into the organisation, it is essential that stakeholders involved at all levels are familiar with the basic knowledge/philosophy behind Tripod.

This training program covers the fundamental concepts about the process and the objectives of the Tripod Beta method.

This module is ideal for, among others, managers, legal advisors and others who are not part of the investigation team, but who do have a role to play in the process of 'learning from incidents'.

  • Tripod Beta Analysis
    (Basic)

    TBIA2

    2-day course

This course fully focuses on the Tripod Beta analysis method. The training program delivers thorough knowledge of both the methodology and philosophy (science) behind Tripod. We provide advanced skills and knowledge in the application of Tripod Beta, and how to improve the quality of the analysis (and recommendations).

After this course, the participants will be able to build Tripod Beta analyses based on gathered facts & findings during the investigation phase. Participants will also be able to review analyses from colleague investigators.

The official accreditation for Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner does not apply to this 2-day course, simply because there is no time for it. Please refer to our 3-day course which includes the assessment.

  • Tripod Beta Analysis
    (Advanced)

    TBIA3

    3-day course

This 3-day course is identical to the 2-day course TBIA2. The extra third day focuses entirely on extra practising by using your own cases. As a result, you will improve your skills and gain more trust and understanding in the application of Tripod Beta.

This course includes the official accreditation for Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner.

  • Tripod Beta Practitioner

    TBPT

    3 & 4-day course

This course focuses on the knowledge, mindset, tools and skills that are required to complete a full incident investigation process using Tripod Beta.

This 4-day program is a combination of the courses TBII and TBIA2. So, this course not only focuses on Tripod Beta, but also on (the design and execution) of the whole incident investigation process. The training program will guide you through all steps in the process.

Objectives: After this course, participants can participate in all phases of the incident investigation process, including the Tripod Beta analysis.

This course includes the official accreditation for Tripod Beta Bronze Practitioner.

For groups that have 4 or fewer participants, we can run this course in 3 days.

  • Tripod Beta Software
    IncidentXP

    TBSW

    1-day course

The program focuses entirely on the application of Tripod Beta using the IncidentXP software suite.

Note: All our Tripod Beta Analysis courses are mainly focused on the method and not so much on the use of the software. During these courses, the trainer demonstrates a quick-tour of the software and how a Tripod Beta diagram can be composed using the software. However, many other functionalities are not covered. That is why this 1-day software training is an ideal addition to the regular Tripod Beta training courses.

  • Tripod Beta Refresher

    TBRF

    1-day course

Accompanied by an experienced lead Investigator / accredited trainer, we offer trained Tripod Beta investigators the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of the method.

During the workshop, there is ample opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with colleague-investigators. After a brief refresher, we mainly practice using your own cases.

This course is a refresher. That means that candidates must have previously participated in a Tripod Beta course.

  • Tripod Beta Master Class

    TBMC

    2-day course

Our Master Class is for experienced Tripod Beta practitioners and offers the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest developments in the field of Tripod and to share experiences and challenges with other Tripod professionals.

The program is specifically focused on deepening and broadening knowledge and skills. We offer the opportunity to introduce own case studies.

Note: Admission requirements apply to our Master Classes. With this, we try to achieve the highest possible level of learning. Candidates are Silver or Gold accredited Tripod practitioners, or they are running for Silver or Gold.

  • Post-Training
    Coaching & Support

    TBCS

For group coaching, we can facilitate team sessions (workshops) in which the team will work on own case studies, challenges or specific themes.

Both individual and group coaching is guided by one of our professional investigators.
